People value both complementary and conventional medicine

27Oct

(NewsFix) A survey shows that people who use complementary medicine are not dissatisfied with the traditional approach.
Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), which includes acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal remedies and massage, is used by an increasing number of people. Researchers at the Centre for Alternative Medicine Research and Education at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre in the US surveyed 831 CAM users and found that most people were also still seeing a traditional doctor.

It seemed that the combination of CAM and traditional medicine was seen as more effective than either used alone. CAM was seen as helpful for headache, back and neck conditions, while the conventional approach was preferred for high blood pressure.

But most of those surveyed did not tell their doctor about their use of CAM. The most common reason for this was that they didn’t think the doctor needed to know, or that the doctor didn’t ask about it. One third said it was not the doctor’s business and 20 per cent thought the doctor wouldn’t understand. Only 14 per cent were afraid their physician would disapprove.

The survey suggests that patients no longer see their physician as their sole health care provider. He or she is, rather, one of a team. The other members of the team could include acupuncturists, herbalists and so on. What seems strange is that it’s rare for any members of this team to communicate with one another!

How chakra therapy improves your health

Chakra therapy balances 7 chakras

There is a common misconception regarding practices like chakra therapy; some individuals feel it is an alternative to traditional medicine. In reality, even though chakra therapy can be used alone, it is most effective when used as a means to supplement other treatments.

Chakra therapy improves your health by addressing an individual’s spiritual and emotional energy needs.

“Many people are aware that they are more than their body, more than their minds, or feelings. They intuitively feel there are underlying issues beyond any physical problem, issues perhaps lying in the invisible energy body,” Dean Ramsden, creator of the field of “Relational Energy Healing” — a synergistic approach combining chakra development, chakra relational cords, and astral energy healing, told Saludify.

“Even so, chakra work should never be used to replace first consulting with a physician, or as an alternative to following medical advice,” he added. “But it can add a tremendously important piece to anyone’s healing process: the personal and interpersonal energetics that underlie many disease processes. The value of energy work is to add the human element of the healing process back into medical care, by addressing the energy body and its needs.”

What are the fundamentals of chakra therapy?

Chakra therapy, according to MindBodyGreen, is the practice of balancing seven energy centers within the body known as chakras. Each chakra is located in a specific area of the body down the midline, and each location is responsible for the balance of certain emotional energies.

The seven chakras are:

  • The Root Chakra: Located at the base of the spine in the tailbone area. This chakra center is responsible for feelings of being grounded and stable.
  • The Sacral Chakra: Located two inches below the navel. This chakra center is responsible for our ability to accept others and new situations.
  • The Solar Plexus Chakra: Located in the upper abdomen. This chakra center is responsible for confidence and control.
  • The Heart Chakra: Located just above the heart. This chakra center is responsible for our ability to love.
  • The Throat Chakra: Located at the throat. This chakra center controls our ability to communicate.
  • The Third Eye Chakra: Located in the center of the forehead, between the eyes. This chakra center is responsible for the ability to focus on the bigger picture.
  • The Crown Chakra: Located at the very top of the head. This chakra center is responsible for feeling connected spiritually.

When all seven chakras are balanced with energy output, the body feels its best. Sometimes, however, those who adhere to this form of therapy believe chakras can become unbalanced or blocked. This happens when feelings of doubt, insecurity, negativity, and worry creep into our lives, restricting the life force.

For example, someone who lack social confidence and thus experiences anxiety and stress related to that condition may have an unbalanced Sacral or Solar Plexus chakra. In the same way, someone who might have their Sacral or Solar Plexus chakra closed or unbalanced due to external pollutants, may start experiencing lack of confidence and anxiety.

But each chakra also regulates energy towards different parts of the body and has a direct influence on the physical health. In that sense, the body is a multidimensional being with physical, emotional, spiritual and energy fields that affect each other.

“The core principle of chakra healing is that personal consciousness, how awake we are, affects any physical healing process or ongoing health,” said Ramsden. “By positively influencing an underpowered chakra, a healer can assist a client in deepening their grasp on what is necessary to deal with in regard to their illness or personal problem.

“Chakra healing influences our mental and emotional understanding of a wide variety of complaints we may struggle with, be it illness, or recovery after an accident. Chakra healing can also helps us tap into hidden energy body resources, so as to better cope with health challenges, or with emotional struggles such as the loss of a spouse, or parent.”

Chakra therapy improves an individual’s health by returning the body to a balanced state so it may better deal with the physical issues affecting it. Balanced chakras can be equated to a decrease in stress which is a negative force inhibiting healing and causing health issues of its own within the body.

What to look for in a chakra healer

While it is possible to do things to balance chakras on your own, individuals who are under extreme stress from an illness or injury may benefit from the work of a professional chakra healer.

Ramsden cautions there are no real standards that chakra healers can be measured by, unlike the education and licensing of other professional helpers. But three things can help guide you to find a good energy or chakra healer.

“Firstly, has the healer undergone a training program, one requiring two to four years of ongoing study? A ‘trained’ healer will usually give a better and more professional healing than any untrained one,” he explains.

“Secondly, can you read or hear the chakra healer talk about their work, so you can first understand their approach? Read their web page, or their book, or listen to them speaking at an event. This will give you a lot of information about how well informed the healer is, and if they can help you with your problem or issue.”

Thirdly, indicates Ramsden, once you find a healer that interests you then only book a single session, just to try them out before committing to long-term work. After this first session you should get some form of immediate change or notice a difference.

If you don’t notice any change, move on and find another healer to try. Healers, like other professionals, should provide you with results.

How to find a complementary medical provider

When the time comes to find a traditional doctor, many people find the process to be relatively easy. Some doctors may be recommended by a friend, while others opt for a physician that has been treating their families for years. Certain health management and insurance plans may dictate certain “in-plan” providers, searchable by a particular location and practice. Finding an alternative medical provider, or one who specializes in complementary medicine, may not be as simple.

Practitioners who provide complementary and alternative medicine, known as CAM, are those who specialize in chiropractics, naturopathy, acupuncture and herbal remedies. Millions of people now see CAM providers in addition to their standard physicians. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services estimates that at least 40 percent of adults and 12 percent of children have used a CAM provider.

Complementary and alternative medicine is made up of a diverse set of therapies and healing philosophies. While traditional doctors may treat illnesses, many CAM providers are employing techniques to prevent illnesses in the first place. Dissatisfaction with traditional medicine has led many people to seek the help of CAM providers. In fact, a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that the majority of alternative medicine users appear to be doing so largely because “they find these healthcare alternatives to be more congruent with their own values, beliefs and philosophical orientations toward health and life.”

Men and women can find a CAM provider is several ways.

• Start with your doctor or another health care provider, who may offer a referral, particularly if this doctor is in favor of traditional medicine working in conjunction with alternative therapies.

• Some regional medical centers and hospitals may have CAM practitioners on staff. You can seek information from such organizations by calling them directly or going online to see a listing of staff.

• There are a number of professional organizations for CAM providers. An online search may yield various organizations that offer regional referrals.

• Contact state, provincial or municipal regulatory licensing boards for health care professionals. Health departments and boards may have information on nearby practitioners.

• To meet the rising demand for complementary and alternative care services, many health insurance plans have options for you to access these services. However, many plans provide only limited coverage for many CAM services.

• Referrals from friends and family members may yield the name of an effective local CAM practitioner.

Individuals should keep in mind that unless CAM services are covered by insurance, it is very likely that all expenses will be out-of-pocket. When searching for a specialist, be sure to find one who is qualified and verify his or her training, certifications and licensing before beginning any treatment.

Impotence, Infertility, and Sterility (Part 2)

Excessive ejaculation is very detrimental to overall optimal male health. Sperm contains the elixir of life (vitality) and constant loss of this special elixir causes a man to age prematurely. His hair thins, balds and turns grey, his teeth begin to fall out, his hearing and sight becomes bad, he’s constantly fatigued or feeling lethargic, and prone to many sicknesses that claim his health.

Celibacy or temporary periods of sexual (or ejaculatory) fasting allows the spark plugs of the genitals to recharge (rejuvenate and revitalize), in addition to allowing sperm count and production to increase. Celibacy is also warranted to help heal from STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), which is the number one cause of chronic degeneracy of the male sex gland and reproductive system. Chronic sores, bumps, blisters, inflammation, discharges, and rashes debilitate the physical makeup of the male (and female) sex glands or organs and entire reproductive system and are greatly implicated in sterility and infertility.

Most STDs are contracted from recreational sex. God, Biblically speaking, instructed us to have “procreational” sex, but as hypocrites (to God) and loyal imps of the Adversary and his Matrix, we love to pursue and engage in recreational sex. Recreational sex is “wreck creational” (to wreck creation) and that’s exactly what we are and have been foolishly doing – WRECKING God’s creation, especially when you women and girls get pregnant and run to the butcher shop and get an abortion (infanticide), that many of us males are the cause (and financiers) of. I’ll cover abortions and miscarriages in detail in a future article. However, you pay a hidden price for these government-approved acts of legalized murder euphemistically called “abortion” that I will pull your coat tail to (expose, bring to light).

The Adversary’s Matrix keeps us ignorant and unconscious to our lower nature and manipulates us through the imbalances of our lower charkas, especially the root chakra (located at the genitals) and the sacral chakra (located under the belly button). Why do you think its high fashion today for women to wear shirts (blouses) that reveal their belly buttons? By all means am not I telling any woman to stop wearing blouses or even the most revealing clothes. Djehuty is pro freedom, liberation and choice. You do what you want to do. I’m just asking the question “do you know why you’re doing what you do?” Do you know the science behind your fashion, styles, and habits? Do you know why you are piercing your belly buttons today? Do you know what the metals (gold, silver) do to your energy (including your sexual energy) and your sacral chakra? I’m simply asking a question!

Concurring with Author Stewart A. Swerdlow, blatant sexuality is all around us, from fashion to media to everyday speech. This sexuality is a deep, bright red that essentially pulls on your sexual charkas and opens them up. Using color, tone, and archetype (or symbol), these sexual chakras are systematically opened, fed, and energized, expanding them out of proportion until they have control over you. Then you are controlled and manipulated through these chakras.” But when certain people like myself suggest the use of earth’s crystals and gemstones that are naturally red in color and substance which balances and protects the sexual charkas, I’m called a diviner or a practitioner of divination, an occultist, etc.

Your religious leaders and institutions and the public fool (school) system have failed to teach you the metaphysics and metaphysical aspects of life that the Adversary uses against you. Do you deny the sexual perversity, decadence, immorality (fornication and adultery) that takes place in your religious institution or settings, even amongst the officials and leaders? Why do you think sex is so out of control today, but at the same time it’s used to control society (fear of contracting AIDS or STDs, fear of getting pregnant, etc.)?

Sex is connected to fear and fear is the greatest weapon of control on the masses of the people today. But moving along with our topic…

Healing Impotence

To combat or reverse impotence, eat a more vegan-vegetarian based diet and/or consume only sparse amounts of meat (white meat only). Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables, raw and organic fruit, plenty of seeds and nuts (think about it, male sperm is commonly known as “seed” i.e. “to plant seed in a woman”; and ejaculation is commonly referred to as a “nut” or “nutting”, i.e. to bust a nut). The best seeds for a man to eat are pumpkin seeds (papitas) and sunflower seeds due to their rich zinc content. The male prostate gland is chiefly comprised of zinc and with every ejaculation, a man losses vital zinc.

There are a plethora of male-specific hormonal herbs that greatly help heal impotence and degeneracy of the male organ and reproductive system. Yohimbe bark, a powerful African aphrodisiac herb, greatly helps to counteract impotence by its power of increasing and enhancing blood flow to the penis greatly enhancing girth and hang time of the penis. Lycii berry invigorates the blood and can help to increase sperm count and reproductive secretions. Epimedium (Horny Goat weed), a powerful Chinese herb, counteracts premature ejaculation and improves circulation to the penis by its action of dilating the capillaries and larger blood vessels (just like Yohimbe). They don’t call this herb Horny Goat weed for nothing. Epimedium has an effect that makes a man (and a woman) horny and lustful like a goat. Muira Puama, a South American herb commonly known as “potency wood”, is probably the best herb in counteracting im(potence). It has a libido enhancing effect and greatly supports organ regeneration.

Ashwagandha, a powerful Indian or Ayurvedic herb, promotes sexual organ health and regeneration and also has a libido enhancing affect. Damiana, a Mexican aphrodisiac herb, greatly enhances circulation to the penis and energizes the penis. Sarsaparilla nourishes the male sex gland and system and greatly helps reverse conditions of impotence and degeneracy. I could never forget about Stiffcock Strongback. The name says it all for this West Caribbean herb! It is great for a stiff “cock” (penis) in cases of impotence and also strengthens the back which becomes degenerate from a lot of humping. Ever wanted to know why a man was said to be “sowing his oats” in regards to having sex with a woman? This saying has to do with the herb Oat or Oatstraw. Goats are very sexual and lusty creatures, and what do goats in America eat? Oatstraw (grass)! Oatstraw is excellent for the improvement of the male regenerative system.

From time to time (every 4-6 months), I make a tea with all of the foregoing herbs and some other herbs not mentioned, for maintenance of my reproductive system (and one day is all I need). It actually takes control over your body and you almost have no control over your sex organ. The penis does have a mind all of its own. God’s herbs are far more effective than man’s pharmaceutical drugs’ (Cialis and Viagra).

I concocted an herbal compound that we sell at DHERBS called Jackrabbit to serve as a safer and saner alternative to these harmful pharmaceutical sex enhancing drugs. If you really want to conceive a child or just improve your sex life, start messing around these herbs and herbal concoctions (Jackrabbit, Male Hormonal Formula, Prostate Formula). Your impotence will be gone in a matter of days. You will become a hound dog and a lusty goat, hopefully under the right circumstances (like being in a monogamous relationship or married). You’ll read the Song of Solomon in the Bible and become aroused at all of its sexual innuendos.

After all, God made the herbs for the service of man (Psalms 104:14) and instructed man to be fruitful and to multiply and replenish the earth (Genesis 1:28). Now if God instructed us to be fruitful and to multiply and replenish the earth, and today we cannot do such because we are impotent as men (and sterile or infertile as women), what does this imply? Somewhere along the line we have deviated from God’s path and ordained way of life for us. The proof is in the pudding! Our sexual disorders are preventing us from adhering to God’s commandment. Could our modern day high meat, dairy and starch-filled diets and fast-paced and technological-based lifestyles have something to do with this?

It’s interesting in that after God instructed man and woman to be fruitful and to multiply and replenish the earth in Genesis 1:28, God comes behind this with an ordained diet for man and woman in Genesis 1:29 that is a fruitarian (fruit-based) diet:

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”

Now if God instructed us to eat fruit that contains seed, how come we are eating seedless fruit today, such as seedless watermelon, seedless grapes, seedless oranges, etc.? Again, we talk and profess God, but we are the most loyal imps of the Devil or Adversary and are too blind and self-righteous to know it, but are perplexed at our modern day pathologies and disorders. I truly understand how the devil came to God walking amongst the sons of God without the sons of God having a clue that the devil was with them:

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.” JOB 1:6

So getting back to our Genesis-based fruit-based diet, the terms “fruitful” and “seed” have to do with sexual reproduction. Does a man not have “seed”? Is not a woman “fruitful”? The term “infertility” derives from the Latin word infertilis, meaning “not fruitful” [in “not” and fertilis “fruitful”]. A woman who is not fruitful is said to be infertile which brings us to the topic of female infertility.

What is infertility?

Infertility (or infertile) is defined as: “The inability to produce offspring. This condition may be present in one or both sex partners and may be temporary and reversible. The cause may be physical, including immature sexual organs, abnormalities of the reproductive system, hormonal imbalance, and dysfunction or anomalies in other organ systems, or may result from psychological or emotional problems. The condition is classified as primary, in which pregnancy has never occurred, and secondary, when there have been one or more pregnancies.” SOURCE: Mosby’s Dictionary, 3rd Edition (1990)

Eat plenty of artichokes and asparagus (steam them). Eat plenty of pomegranates, berries (raspberries, Lycii, vitex or chaste tree, blueberries, Goji, etc.). Eat plenty of sunflower and pumpkin seeds (uterus food). These are your fertility enhancing foods.

Women, do you know how to bless your wombs? Do you know how to prevent the psychic attacks on your womb?

Your womb is a potential internal nursery for a Rosemary’s Baby which means your womb is used to produce a baby for the Devil (Adversary, Matrix). In the 1966 Roman Polanski movie “Rosemary’s Baby”, actress Mia Farrow unsuspectedly and unknowingly carried a baby for the Devil. These murderers, serial killers, drive-by shooters, cut-throats, and natural born killers, where did they come from? Answer: from the womb of a female!

Healing for Infertility (Frigidity)

Herbs that help a woman to heal from infertility include SQUAWVINE, DAMIANA, ASHOKA, FALSE UNICORN, SAW PALMETTO BERRIES, CHASTE TREE BERRIES, MACA MACA and BALA.

The following essential oils may be burned in a diffuser, added to bath water, or inhaled throughout to help enhance fertility: CLARY SAGE, JASMINE, YLANG YLAND COMBAVA, ROSE ABSOLUTE and TUBEROSE.

Crystals and gemstones such as ROSE QUARTZ, CARNELIAN, CHRYSOPRASE, MOLDAVITE, ZINCITE, MOONSTONE, CINNABAR (DRAGON’S BLOOD), RHODOLITE GARNET, JADE, THULITE, RHODONITE, RHODOCHROSITE and PEARL all enhance fertility

Formulas that will aid and assist in impotence and infertility include: JACKRABBIT, FEMALE HORMONAL, MALE HORMONAL, YONI, STD-RID, AND PROSTATE.

Nine Steps to Getting Unstuck — a Guide to Flow and Freedom from Kwan Yin Healing's "The Reconnective Journey" Teleseminar, May 7 – June 25

Munnsville, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2013

May 7 to June 25, Kwan Yin Healing will offer “The Reconnective Journey,” a teleseminar to take participants from their ordinary world through the inner work necessary to free themselves to move forward in their life goals. A series of free Tuesday evening teleseminars has presented material related to this journey; the next one, Tuesday April 2, will focus on “Leaving your comfort zone, facing your fears, and why do to it.” Registration for this and future calls is available at http://mad.ly/signups/75430/join.

Last week's teleseminar focused on “Why are we stuck? What keeps us stuck? How can we get unstuck?” Nine steps were presented for this process.

Step 1) Understand what’s not working.

Three ineffective roles populate the world: Prosecutor, Victim, and Rescuer. The Prosecutors are the tough manager, the strict teacher, the overbearing parent, who actually just convince people to avoid them. Victims look at Prosecutors as the problem, but that means the Victims’ behavior is always off the hook, not responsible for anything, and thus unable to change it. Rescuers at first seem great, but afterwards, when life isn’t perfect, the Victims turn on the Rescuers for “not rescuing good enough.” Victims become Prosecutors.

So recognize two points: (a) give up trying to control others, and (b) acknowledge that the current approach isn’t working. People will endlessly defend what isn’t working, but something has to change—and that’s the old way.

Step 2) Get help.

The old way created the current problem, and maintains it. Get help: more resources, more ideas, people who aren’t stuck in the same place, because they don’t have the same stuck mindset. At more advanced levels, this is all the more important, because on new ground, and the help of guides who have been in the new situation is required.

Step 3) Find a spiritual center.

This can be, but doesn’t not have to be religious or traditional. Forget about disbeliefs—these are irrelevant. What are the actual beliefs, however minimal—Tao, nature, energy, what? These can be very small, but whatever those beliefs, we need that focus. Construct a daily spiritual practice around this. Perhaps morning reading, evening meditation, or a quiet cup of tea with a favorite tree, but the power is in daily practice. It will build in ways unimaginable until experienced. This daily touchstone is necessary to move forward—whatever happens, it allows a start fresh again from this personal deep truth.

4) Take a Personal Examination.

What is the current situation, really, and what is desired? Most people don’t get what they want because they don’t know what it is. Create a dissonance between the reality of the current situation and where the desired outcome might be. Blaming others for the status quo won't work. To reclaim power, reclaim self—all of it. This is NOT a pain free process, but an essential one.

Watch for pointing fingers. At whom? What’s the problem? What does this situation threaten – lots of things are problems that don’t cause any bother, so why is this one standing out? What’s the personal contribution to it? Even if just 5%—this the beginning of power. What’s good about this situation, even if only a little? Gratitude is also power. How is this other person suffering (hurt people hurt people)? Be patient with people struggling through their own “stuff.” Wish them well – that’s for the wisher, not them, as it separates wisher from the stuck situation.

Mastering The Skills Of Chakra Meditation

meditation comes in many different styles and one of these is becoming very popular. The number of people practicing Chakra Meditation is increasing and this is mainly due to the fact that it is easy to learn. Not only is Chakra Meditation easy to learn but the techniques are easy to remember. Once people have learnt these techniques they don

FDA Approves Extended-Release Hydrocodone

FDA Approves Extended-Release Hydrocodone

The FDA has approved the first single-entity hydrocodone product (Zohydro ER, Zogenix) for management of pain severe enough to require daily, around-the-clock, long-term treatment and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate.
Zohydro ER, a Schedule II controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act, is the first FDA-approved product containing the opioid analgesic hydrocodone not combined with another nonopioid analgesic such as acetaminophen, as well the first extended-release (ER) hydrocodone product.
Zohydro ER is in the class of ER/long-acting (LA) opioid analgesics, which carry with them the risk for addiction, abuse and misuse, even at recommended doses. The FDA recently revised mandatory labeling for these agents. Labels now must state that these drugs should be reserved for use in patients for whom alternative treatment options are ineffective, not tolerated, or otherwise would be inadequate to provide sufficient management of pain. Zohydro ER is not approved for as-needed pain relief.
The approved labeling for Zohydro ER makes it the first drug in its class to conform to the updated labeling requirements for all ER/LA opioid analgesics, which were announced by the FDA on Sept. 10, 2013.The new class labeling and stronger warnings more clearly describe the risks and safety concerns associated with ER/LA opioid analgesics, along with the appropriate use of these medications.
Schedule II drugs can only be dispensed through a physician’s written prescription and no refills are allowed. There are also stringent recordkeeping, reporting and physical security requirements for Schedule II controlled substances.
The FDA is requiring postmarketing studies of Zohydro ER to assess the known serious risks associated with long-term opioid use. These studies also will be required for other ER/LA opioid analgesics.
The safety of Zohydro ER is based on clinical studies of more than 1,100 individuals living with chronic pain. The efficacy of Zohydro ER is based on a clinical study that enrolled more than 500 patients with chronic low back pain who showed significant improvement with Zohydro ER compared with placebo.
Zohydro ER will be part of the ER/LA opioid analgesics Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS). Originally approved in 2012, the REMS for ER/LA opioid analgesics requires companies to make educational programs on how to safely prescribe ER/LA opioid analgesics available to health care professionals and to provide medication guides and patient counseling documents containing information on the safe use, storage and disposal of these agents.
The most common side effects of Zohydro ER are constipation, nausea, drowsiness (somnolence), fatigue, headache, dizziness, dry mouth, vomiting and itching (pruritus).

Depressed, anxious older people turn more often to alternative medicine – TeleManagement

23Oct

(TeleManagement) Mental state seems to be a factor in the popularity of complementary and alternative medicine, say researchers.
Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), such as herbal medicine, acupuncture or meditation, is popular among older people. A new survey from scientists at Wake Forest University suggests that depressed anxious older people turn more often to alternative medicine. But they do not use CAM for mental symptoms.

Previous work by this group showed that blacks and native Americans over 65 were more likely to use home remedies. But this new study did not show any differences between ethnic groups. Praying for health was also important to the study group of over 30,000 people over 65. As many as 81.7 per cent of those with anxiety or depression used prayer, compared to 65 per cent of those without. The researchers comment that mental disorders like depression among older people are too often accepted as part of the aging process – instead, they should be properly diagnosed and treated, whether by CAM or conventional medicine.
